S woke up today with his usual energy and kookiness which was reassuring. z looked ok too and they both had a little breakfast after their morning nausea meds. It was so nice to see a little sparkle in their faces again, poor kids.
I even got out for a 3 mile run as I hadn’t moved my body much in a couple of days either, taking care of them. I had had to open up iPhone notes on both kids to keep track of their meds, symptoms etc as it was otherwise too hard with 2 sick ones.
S wanted to take a walk and move his body and I managed to convince Z to, too. We all walked over with my cousin to the nearest mall, about a mile away, came upon a protest parade about pension benefits on the way, and the kids seemed excited to be in a mall, probably because we never go. And ironically, it’s Black Friday and I definitely don’t go on that day. But S has a concert next week and needs a black shirt and shoes and there is no time to get them once we return.
The mall also had this incredible Lego exhibition, so we bought tickets to that.
That’s around when I started feeling utter exhaustion, like I had hit a wall, with stomach upset. Oh no, I’m getting sick too, I thought. We went and had a little lunch—the boys ate, yay! And then headed back to our apartment where I took a 2 hour nap. I think the sheer exhaustion of taking care of sick kids for a week and now them finally being ok had me crashing, plus I’m sure my body is still trying to fight off any virus I was exposed to.
My lovely cousin took over and helped kids with snacks while I slept, took them out for gelato (yay they ate!) while I rested and after dinner and some ibuprofen, I started to feel a little better.

Hoping to sleep off whatever this is as tomorrow is our last full day in Italy and we have a scheduled rowing gondola lesson that S has been looking forward to.
