We spent 8 + hours in the car today. It was a long day and very hard with 2 wild and active boys who then decided to let out all their energy as we were checking into the hotel lobby.
Again, every time I do this and we make a transition, I ask myself why I am traveling with the 2 of them at this age. It can be very mentally exhausting to manage them all day, pack and unpack 3 peoples stuff all the while trying to show them how to do it all themselves. They are both kind of slobs, especially Z, and I love to have stuff organized when we travel, otherwise it’s hard to find, and also dirty boy underwear and clothes strewn all over the floor isn’t quite my style. But it’s also exhausting telling them continuously what to do. I know I could just do it for them, and it would be way easier, but I subscribe to the philosophy that I want to raise independent self sufficient boys and that takes work.
Our hotel in udaipur is gorgeous—another heritage hotel/converted palace nestled into the hills. We are a week into the journey, and it’s been great overall, though at times challenging with the kids.

I’ll leave you with a couple of photos of our hotel room. Tomorrow we tour udaipur, so will write more then.
