It was our last full day in London, and we had a few things left on our bucket list.

We headed out first for a river taxi. They have Uber river taxis with stops, as well as 2 hour river cruises. We picked the taxi and took it from Tower Hill to Embankment, which was nice, as it allowed us to view Tower of London too.

We then met some more family at Covent Garden, had lunch (spaghetti house), and the kids watched street performers as I tried to shop for that one piece of unique jewelry at the market (this is what I collect on my travels; it used to be art, but that’s much harder to display and coordinate and match in a house).

We then said goodbye to family and the kids got their London hoodies, and we headed home towards my other cousin’s house to have dinner.

The kids are now asleep, our bags are mostly packed, and we have lots of English Cadbury waiting to be put into the luggage that has space tomorrow.
We head back to Portland tomorrow, the end of a 9 week epic trip. We’ve really enjoyed this chapter 3 in England—I’m so glad we were able to connect and reconnect with family.
I haven’t quite wrapped my head around the next chapter, which is return home and readjustment back. It’s been fun to live in the moment in this trip, and this is probably the most spontaneity I’ve had with my kids and since I became a mom. I used to travel like this all the time; having kids kills the spontaneity sometimes, but I’m so glad we were able to roll with it this trip (within certain needed boundaries for the kids).
Tomorrow we board a direct flight to portland (Hopefully).
