Day 1 Thailand

We woke up in Bangkok. Thankfully the kids slept well and I slept enough to be functional (3 hours?). Had a little breakfast at the hotel and off to the airport for our last flight to Chiang Mai.

The first thing that strikes me about Thailand is how nice everyone is here. And how family friendly. So many times in the past couple of days, people have pulled us out of a long line because we are traveling with kids so that we can get through faster. It shows me how much they value families here; very different than most of the U.S.

Thankfully the boys are getting along today, which feels so much better for me. The last 30 hours, it was not so. I think travel and ADHD don’t combine well for S, and he has been dysregulated and picking on his brother a lot. But this morning, they are all chummy and telling each other stories. When I curse at myself one day for traveling with 2 kids, the next day I realize how much more fun it is to have 2 kids so they can keep each other company. Sibling relationships are always complicated. I’m glad today is a good day.

We board for Chiang Mai in 15 minutes and I’m looking forward to a soak in the pool.
